 Joseph Leroy Guydon Sr., was born in Michigan City, Indiana on October 28, 1966 to the late Cathryn Wiggins Guydon and Samuel Alfred Guydon, Sr. He was a resident of Michigan City, Indiana until the family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee in 1974. He graduated third in his class from Austin East High School in 1985, and he won a full football scholarship to Tennessee State University. Later, he received his Bachelors of Business Administration from Tennessee State University in 2008. In July 1988 he met
his future wife, Owenette "Owen" Pruitt at Tennessee State University. They married on October 3
1993 and from this union they had three children Cathryn, Joseph Jr., and
Joshua. Joseph was employed as a Mill Operator with Bridgestone in Laverne, Tennessee for fifteen years

A former field goal kicker, better known as "Toe-Joe" at Tennessee State University, he continued his passion for football through coaching his sons' Mid State Youth
Football teams and mentoring youth of all ages. In addition
he was a committed volunteer, and he co-taught three year olds at Bethel World Outreach Center "Bethel" with his
wife, Owen
until his illness. He and Owen also served as volunteers for Junior Achievement at their son's school, and during the 2010 Nashville flood, he worked with Samaritan House, through a volunteer opportunity at Bethel, and assisted families that had been impacted by the flood.

Joseph was a passionate family man who enjoyed a strong bond with his wife Owen and each of his three children. He also had a loving relationship with his mother-in- law, Wilhomena Wilkes. At his core he cared about others, his faith, and he established many life-long friendships.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Owen; three children, Cathryn, Joey Jr. and Joshua; seven sisters and brothers, Charla (Gregory)White, Chauna (Saint) Williams, Vincent (Sharon) Guydon, Samuel (Ketelie) Guydon Jr., Valeryn Stewart, Kelleigh Guydon, and Adrian Chat1es Guydon; special brother, Chat1es "Chuckie" Oragg; special aunt/mother, Mattie Louise (Richard) Ragland; aunts, Barbara Kitchen and Peggy Nixon; uncle, Leroy (Brenda) Wiggins; the following in-laws, Latonya (Arna) Hill, Jonathan Wilkes, Anthony (Kyndrell) Johnson, Jennifer Jones, Daniel Jones, Desiree Jones and Destiny Jones; fifteen nieces and nephews; six great nieces and nephews;
